Bak Chor Mee DIY Kit
BAK CHOR MEE / SINGAPORE MINCED MEAT NOODLES
DIY KIT INCLUDES:
Egg noodles, braised mushrooms, sambal chilli and seasoning oil and sauce mix
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cook the noodles
Bring a pot of water (600ml) to a rolling boil. Add the egg noodles, stirring well with chopsticks. Cook for about two minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the sauce
While the noodles are cooking, remove braised mushrooms from the packaging and place them into a bowl. Heat the mushrooms in the microwave for 30 seconds. Combine the heated mushrooms, sambal, and seasoning sauce in the same bowl. Add about six tablespoons of hot water to ‘hydrate’ the sauce to your liking.
3. Mix noodles with sauce
Transfer the drained noodles to the bowl containing the seasoning sauce. Toss the noodles gently but thoroughly with a spoon until evenly coated with the sauce.
4. Assemble, serve and enjoy
For an authentic experience, top your tossed noodles with your choice of pre-cooked chicken mince, fish cakes, or fish balls. Garnish with fresh spring onions, crispy fried shallots, toasted garlic, and a sprinkle of pork lard as desired. Serve hot.
